Strength Medicine
An injury changes the plan, not your identity. Train what you can, protect what is healing and keep the long game in view.
Separate discomfort from danger
Muscular effort and unfamiliar movement can feel uncomfortable. Sharp, worsening or unstable pain is different. If symptoms persist, affect daily life or follow a significant injury, get a qualified assessment.
Keep useful work
Replace painful ranges with tolerable ones, reduce load and train unaffected patterns. A sore shoulder may still allow lower-body work and walking; an irritated knee may tolerate upper-body strength and controlled hinges.
Return by stages
Restore range, then control, then volume and finally intensity. Test one variable at a time and judge the response during the session and the following day.
